Boat For Rent

Runaway Bay just added a great little Scout 153 fishing boat to the line up. This baby floats in about 9 inches of water, handles great and is very light on the water. Come check this one out for the day and you will have a blast.

Runaway Bay has a main house that has waterfront views from 2 bedrooms. The house also has 1 full bath and a full kitchen, family room and a private covered screened porch that faces The West, overlooking the water, sure to produce a beautiful sunset almost every day. Runaway Bay has a large studio that has a full kitchen, private patio and full bathroom. The boathouse is a favorite. This cottage is built at the end of a 200 ft pier, over the water. The boathouse has water views from every room and features 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, a full kitchen and family room. The boathouse also has a private covered patio and boat slip facing west towards the water and the magnificent sunsets.

Lake George and The Ocala National Forest are known for their abundance of wildlife, on land, in the air and in the water. There are several springs just a short boat ride across the 6 mile lake. You may also want to visit the exclusive Drayton Island that is only accessible by boat. Or, you may want to take a swim in one of the freshwater springs at Juniper Springs, Salt Springs or Silver Springs Glen. Lake George is also connected to The St Johns River that flows north from Melbourne, FL to The Atlantic Ocean, in Jacksonville, FL. Lake George is surrounded by The Ocala National Forest and Lake George State Forest for hundreds of miles of wildlife. Imagine yourself getting away from the city and finding yourself getting back to nature, with all of the comforts of home. Enjoy a quiet bike ride, read a book on the sun deck, enjoy your favorite beverage at the private waterfront bar and entertainment room. Fish from our private pier, or take a pleasure cruise on the 46,000 Acre Lake or paddle around some of the bays and coves of Lake George. Although a lot of our travelers are fishing, hunting and wildlife enthusiasts, Runaway Bay is still a great place to spend some quiet and private time with someone you love, and can also be a great place for a family vacation.

Imagine, you arrive with just your luggage and groceries and your vacation home is ready for you. You set your bags down grab the boat keys run to the end of the dock and head out towards the sunset. When you get back, you can grill the fish you caught, or prepare a meal, in your full kitchen, or you can take a short drive to one of the local restaurants. If you are here in the summer months, you can take a boat ride to one of the waterfront restaurants, along The St Johns River, that have docks and welcome boaters. The next day, you can take a bike ride or hike one of the many trails, and relax on the sundeck or the bar and enjoy all the natural beauty of the area. You could then take a boat ride to one of the springs where the water is between 70 - 72 degrees all year round, crystal clear and great for an afternoon swim. These springs get crowded on the weekends, so make sure you anchor your boat somewhere that you can get out of when you are ready. The next day you could enjoy a horse back trail ride, or hire a fishing or tour guide to take you around the area and see some of the history of the area.

If you are ready to run away for a few days or a few weeks, please consider Runaway Bay for a truly memorable vacation or small group event.
